Located near Merlin, Oregon. Spent the day there yesterday and in nearby Grants Pass shopping.
Yesterday, we went to Crescent City, California, and Brookings, Oregon, to enjoy some halfway decent weather on the Pacific coast. This is perhaps the latest in the year I have ever been there.
I went with family to Crater Lake National Park and went down the latest trail opened to the public, Plaikni Falls Hiking Trail, which is off of Pinnacles Road which in turn is off of the East Rim Drive.
It was a gorgeous day, perfect to visit. Flowers were in bloom this late in the summer thanks to the long winter.
On April 30, I adopted a year-and-a-half old Lhasa Apso named Duffy. There was a National Adoption Week event at the local PetSmart, so I went to check out the dogs. I hadn’t planned to get another dog for a long time after Tony died last August, but I ended up taking Duffy home. He is a very nice dog and gets along great with Sam.

My niece celebrated her 52nd birthday at my nephew’s house. At the same time we marked the holiday weekend as well.
My nephew, Rick Hillman, celebrated his 50th birthday today at the Si Casa Flores restaurant in Medford, Oregon. His birthday was actually yesterday, but we had the party today.

Sam met with his “girlfriend” Bella a few minutes ago. Tony was too cold to stay outside for very long.
Tony got a haircut today, the first time in four months. He was looking very bad, but now he feels so good, he doesn’t even want to take his sweater off, not to mention he is a bit cold.
